A Local Pro Shop That Now Strings Racquets Nationwide.

How we turned a hands-on service that used to require a drive to Kettering into a product anyone in the country can order online, ship in, and get back ready to play.

The Challenge

Expertise that could only reach driving distance.

Racquet Point had over a decade of stringing experience and a deep inventory across nine racquet sports. What it did not have was a way to sell either one beyond the Dayton area. Stringing in particular is a hands-on service, and hands-on services are hard to put in a shopping cart.

Before

  • Stringing customers had to live close enough to drive in
  • A service business with no way to take service orders online
  • Deep multi-sport inventory with no real storefront behind it
  • String choice, tension and grip all handled by conversation
After

  • Mail-in stringing sold as an orderable product across the country
  • String, tension, grip and sport all chosen at checkout
  • A prepaid box add-on that removes the hardest step for the customer
  • Local Dayton pickup and delivery preserved as its own service

The Core Problem

Selling a service that has to arrive by mail.

Shipping a racquet to a stranger is a real hesitation. The customer has to find a box, guess at packing, pay for postage, and trust that an expensive frame comes back intact. Every one of those doubts is a place the sale quietly dies. So the page was built around removing them one at a time: a $30 add-on that sends a durable box and a prepaid label, free return shipping attached to it, a published turnaround, a stated address, and a plain warning not to send a cracked frame. The product page does the job a good counter conversation used to do.

What We Built

A storefront that sells products and expertise.

Service as a product

Stringing configured like any other item. Pick the sport, the string, the tension and whether you want a fresh grip, then check out. No phone call, no quote request.

The shipping objection, solved

A prepaid box and label option that costs less than shipping it yourself, with free ground return attached. The step most likely to stop a customer became the easy one.

Nine sports, one storefront

Tennis, pickleball, padel, badminton, squash, racquetball, platform tennis, beach tennis and table tennis, each with its own navigation rather than buried in a single catalog.

Answers where the doubt happens

Turnaround times, string options, sport coverage and shipping costs answered on the product page itself, not on a separate FAQ page nobody visits.

Proof on the page

Customer reviews sit directly beneath the order form, so the reassurance arrives at the moment of hesitation.

Local service kept separate

Dayton customers get their own pickup and delivery option instead of being pushed into a mail-in flow they do not need.

Customer Response

The service page earns its own five-star reviews.

“Great stringing job, great speed, great price!”

— Michael V., verified review on the mail-in stringing page

Racquet Point does the stringing. The site’s job is to make ordering it feel as simple as walking into the shop, and to keep the customer confident from checkout through the return delivery.
